Contract and Copy Conditions for Advertising with the U.S. Chess Federation

Contract and Copy Conditions for Advertising with the U.S. Chess Federation which includes advertising options related to ads appearing on the U. S. Chess Federation website. Advertising must be suitable for minors without exception. The U. S. Chess Federation will do its best to ensure that all advertising is appropriate and provides a safe environment for minors and that all advertisers will respect the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA") involving all sites directly linked to the official website of the U. S. Chess Federation.

These conditions are applicable to all USCF advertising opportunities

1. Payment must accompany order. Payment options are: credit card (AMEX, DISC, MC, VISA); check (checks must clear before posting of contracted advertisement(s); money order.

2. Ads should be saved in the .gif or .jpg format and can be sent to, U. S. Chess Federation, Attn: Ray West - Advertising Associate, P.O. Box 3967, Crossville, TN 38557 or e-mailed to: rwest@uschess.org. Phone: (931) 787-1234, Ext. #132. Please specify if the file has been compressed or encoded in any way. A specific URL link (website address) must accompany each ad. (Refer to the insertion order for other information required with submission of ad.) Orders are due 30 days prior to posting.

3. U. S. Chess Federation reserves the right to refuse advertisements and reserves the right to terminate service to anyone for any reason at any time. We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions as well as the account rates at any time.

4. All services offered by the U. S. Chess Federation for website advertising are to be used lawfully. This includes any federal, state, local and copyright laws. The U. S. Chess Federation may not be held responsible in any way or for any reason, for damages suffered through use of our services.

5. The U. S. Chess Federation will not be bound by any conditions, printed or otherwise, appearing on contracts, insertion orders or copy instructions when such conditions conflict with the rates, conditions, and other terms set forth on our rate card.

6. Cancellation of website banner/link ads must be submitted in writing, preferably by the same person who initially contracted for the banner/link ad (or, other organization official), and submitted 15 days prior to the beginning of the month for which the banner/link ad was scheduled to appear. Cancellation of your ad should be sent to the U. S. Chess Federation, Attn: Ray West - Advertising Associate, P.O. Box 3967, Crossville, TN 38557. Cancellation prior to posting results will result in one month charge being applied. Cancellation after posting will result in the refund being prorated.

7. By submitting advertisements, advertisers, advertising agencies, affiliates and tournament organizers all represent that they are authorized to publish the entire contents and such matter of such advertisements.

8. Advertisers and advertising agencies assume full liability for the content of their advertisements and have full responsibility for any claims that are made against the U. S. Chess Federation, including but not limited to claims or actions alleging the unauthorized use of any person’s name or photograph, or of any sketch, map, word, photograph, tournament listing, product, label, trademark, copyright, or other matter, or alleging any false, misleading, or libelous statement or representation.

9. The U. S. Chess Federation shall not be liable for any costs or damages if for any reason it fails to publish an advertisement.

10. Positioning of advertising will be honored provided the payment is in accordance with our rate card and is specifically noted in the contract (insertion order). However, we are limited as to how many banner ad links can be incorporated in any one location (5 is the maximum for each location) so, first come, first served. Should the location you are requesting be already spoken for you will be notified within a timely manner. The U. S. Chess Federation will acknowledge all orders by email once payment has cleared.

11. The U. S. Chess Federation is a not-for-profit membership organization. Complaints against advertisers made to USCF by its members or subscribers may be investigated. USCF reserves the right to cancel, at any time, the contract of an advertiser who fails to provide a timely, satisfactory reply to any such complaints.
