Gardner H. Stubee - Millville, New Jersey passed June 21, 2009 at age 31
 
Gardner Harrison Stubee of Millville, New Jersey, formerly of Vineland, NJ, died late Sunday night, June 21, 2009, of injuries sustained in a single-car accident in Millville. He was 31. Born in Greensboro, Maryland, the son of Stewart L. Stubee and Mary (Ellwanger) (Stubee) Palys, he moved to Vineland as an infant in 1979 and graduated from Vineland High School in 1995.

He was a member of the school's chess club and varsity wrestling team. He had joined the USCF prior to entering high school. Mr. Stubee graduated from Cumberland County College in 2006, earning an associate of science degree in engineering. In 2007, he graduated from Gloucester County College with an associate of applied science degree in civil engineering  technology, land surveying option. He attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology on a two-year full-tuition scholarship and graduated cum laude in 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology, surveying engineering technology option, from the school's Newark College of Engineering. Mr. Stubee worked full time in his family engineering and surveying business for 14 years as survey party chief while attending college at night.

He enjoyed theater and music and played guitar well. He was also a self-taught pianist. Besides his mother in Vineland and his father in Millville, he leaves a sister, a brother, paternal grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
