J. Albert Skalbite (1939-2009) Born June 18, 1939 in Platera, Latvia, Janis Albert Skalbite. Emigrated to the United States in the Early 1950's. Avid Chess Player while a serviceman in the United States Navy, and took up the game again in his later years. Passed away on February 13, 2009, at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, Ma. Survived by his wife Linda A. Skalbite (Bernier) and His Son, Robert J. Skalbite. A request for no obituary was made by the deceased, hence why no obit. in the Republican.
