Ivanchuk Wins; Gata Finishes with Four
August 27, 2008
talmempic.jpgThe final round of the Tal Memorial (Moscow, August 18-27), where Vassily Ivanchuk came out on top, featured five draws, although not all were short. American World Championship Gata Kamsky fought for 74 moves to earn a draw against Ruslan Ponomariov in a tough endgame. Kamsky finished with 4/9. Considering his last round save and his penultimate win against Morozevich, Gata ended Moscow on a positive note.
