24th Annual Denver Rocky Mountain Chess Camps: June 4-8, 2018  (Denver) – full and half day options - and July 9-11, 2018  (Denver).

All abilities and ages. 8:1 Staff-Student ratio. Three 2-day chess camps are also offered throughout the summer in Englewood for specific ability levels. Participants will be taught scorekeeping, etiquette, tournament preparation, logical thinking and strategic planning for all the phases of the game. 17th ANNUAL MID-SOUTH SUMMER CHESS CAMP, MEMPHIS, JUNE 10-16, 2018 – THE PREMIER CHESS CAMP - ALL AGES AND ALL LEVELS: Accepting residential and commuter students, this camp is centrally located in Memphis, TN on the beautiful campus of Memphis University School, 6191 Park Avenue. Camp instructors include GM Alexander Stripunsky, GM Joel Benjamin, IM Jake Kleiman, IM Alex Velakanov, IM-Elect Parker Zhao, NM Nolan Hendrickson, Expert Jennie Liu, Early Childhood Instructor Dr. Andre Duvall. These instructors represent years of extensive, successful chess coaching and are considered among the best in the country. We divide our campers into small groups according to age and level of play, each with a counselor.  This is an exciting and intensive, yet fun, chess camp with multiple hours of age and level appropriate instruction, combined with special activities including sports, interactive chess play, and optional evening activities. Our Instructors rotate throughout the day --- what a difference this makes! Our chess summer camps help children expand their chess knowledge for greater success with their game. Professional teachers will provide a high-level instruction. Instruction will include greater understanding of opening theory, middle game tactics and planning, and end game combinations so to move each student to a new level of expertise. 18th Annual Castle Chess Camp, June 17-22, 2018,

at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Castle Chess Camp is a nationally renowned program of chess instruction featuring some of the strongest scholastic players and top ranked instructors in the nation. Our regular staff of instructors includes GM's Varuzhan Akobian, Julio Becerra, John Fedorowicz, Irina Krush, Daniel Naroditsky, Magesh Panchanathan, and Gregory Serper, many of whom are expected to be back with us for 2018. The camp is followed by the Castle Chess Grand Prix tournament (G/120, d/10), June 22-24, offering $13,500 in guaranteed prizes!

Castle Chess Camp is instructive, rewarding, and it's a lot of fun, but it's not for everyone. We are a full immersion experience, with chess literally from early morning until after sunset. It requires not only chess skills, but a certain amount of stamina. For that reason no campers under age 10 will be accepted. There is also a minimum USCF rating required. 15th Annual Western Invitational Chess Camp – July 15-19, 2018: STRONGEST CHESS CAMP IN THE UNITED STATES, LOCATED IN TUCSON, ARIZONA.

Overview of Camp: This camp is the strongest and most intense chess camp in the United States. There are 5 solid days of chess instruction, with evening activities (mostly chess and some non-chess activities). Following camp is local tournament – Ye Olde Pueblo Open (Grand Prix tournament) – July 20-22, 2018 at same hotel as camp.

Ratings/Groups: Camp is divided into groups based on ratings.  Top Group generally is 2100+. 

2017 Camp: 20 players rated over 2000!! Minimum rating required is 1500 USCF (limited exceptions to rating requirement if approved by camp organizer).

2018 Camp Instructors (tentative): GM Melik Khachiyan, GM Julio Sadorra, GM Naroditsky, and GM Magesh Panchanathan, IM John Bartholomew, IM Danny Rensch, IM Joel Banawa, and IM-Elect Robby Adamson.
