Daniel J Bryant (1938-2014)

Daniel J. Bryant, passed away in Mishawaka, Indiana, Jan. 14, 2014, at the age of 75. A former owner of a plastics company in the city, he retired and enjoyed many years with his wife Janice, 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bryant was an active competitor in the South Bend and Elkhart County Chess Clubs as well as state and regional tournaments. Active in USCF since 1968, he reached his peak rating of 1931 in May 1987. He was a generous sponsor and supporter of tournaments in the area, and was a strong player in backgammon as well as chess.
