Six Grandmasters tied for first at The National Open in Las Vegas: Wesley So, the victor on tiebreak, Varuzhan Akobian, Jaan Ehlvest, Manuel Leon Hoyos, Alejandro Ramirez and Enrico Sevillano. Another member of the Webster University contigent tied for first: GM Manuel Leon Hoyos. He defeated defending National Open Champ Aleksander Lenderman.
