By USCF Elections Committee
June 11, 2013
Ballots are currently in the mail to USCF voting members. They are scheduled to be received between June 17-20, and must be returned in time to be counted on July 23. Look for this envelope in your mailbox:

This envelope will include your ballot, ballot instructions, and a return envelope. A sample ballot letter is pictured below:

Under USCF Bylaws, a voting member is any current USCF member who was a member for the entire day on May 5th and who will be 16 years of age or older by June 30th of this year. Only eligible USCF members who registered to vote by March 31, 2013 are receiving the ballot.

The order of the names was determined by a random drawing. All candidates are running for at-large positions on the USCF Executive Board, not for any specific office. If you wish to vote for someone who is not listed, you may indicate write-in choices. Write-ins must be current USCF members and you must supply the individual’s name and USCF ID. No employee of the USCF is eligible to be a member of the Executive Board.

You may vote for up to four candidates. The two candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to three-year terms on the Executive Board, expiring in 2016. The next two candidates will be elected to two-year terms on the Executive Board, expiring in 2015.

Any ballot received with votes for more than four candidates (including write-ins) will be invalidated in its entirety. No candidate may receive more than one vote per ballot. If a ballot indicates more than one vote for any candidate, that candidate receives only one vote from that ballot.

Vote by marking the box beside the name of the candidate or the write-in line.

IMPORTANT: After making your selections, place the ballot in the pre-printed return envelope that shows your USCF ID Number in the return address area. Place first class postage in the right-hand corner and mail your ballot in time for it to arrive at Taylor, Bilyeu & Company no later than 3 p.m. on July 23rd, 2013. Ballots received after that will not be counted.

The ballots will be received at the accounting office of Taylor, Bilyeu & Company, an independent agency, and will be counted in Crossville, Tennessee, on July 23-24, 2013 at a location to be announced in early July. The counting process may be observed by the candidates or by the candidate’s designated representative. Please inform the USCF office ahead of time so we may make sure there is adequate space. Contact Cheryle Bruce, [email protected] or 931-787-1234, ext. 147.

Results will be announced at the conclusion of the counting.

The ballot will be verified by using the member information pre-printed on each return envelope and then counted. The results will then be submitted to the Delegates on Saturday, August 3, 2013, for certification and the newly elected Board members will take their seats at the conclusion of the Delegates’ meeting.

Sincerely,
USCF Elections Committee
