USCF Accepting Bookstore Bids for Major Events

The US Chess Federation is now accepting Bookstore bids for:

 
  • 2013 US Open – July 27 – Aug. 4, 2013
  • 2013 National K-12 Grade Championship – December 13 – 15, 2013
  • 2014 National High School Championship – April 4 – 6, 2014,
  • 2014 National Junior High Championship – April 25 – 27, 2014
  • 2014 National Elementary Championship – May 9 – 11, 2014
Bids must include ALL of the above events. Bids will not be accepted for any set of events less than the full list above.

The US Chess Federation will:

 
  1. The US Chess Federation will provide adequate space for the bookstore vendor with tables and chairs.
  2. Provide the bookstore vendor with the contact name at the hotel property so they may make necessary arrangements for product delivery.
  3. Provide a US Chess Federation point of contact person at the event.
  4. Include a complimentary full page ad in the Program Book when offered.

Bid should include:

 
  1. Per player fee minimum:
     
    • $11.00 - 2013 US Open – July 27 – Aug. 4, 2013
    • $6.00 - 2013 National K-12 Grade Championship – December 13 – 15, 2013
    • $4.00 - 2014 National High School Championship – April 4 – 6, 2014
    • $4.00 - 2014 National Junior High Championship – April 25 – 27, 2014
    • $6.00 - 2014 National Elementary Championship – May 9 – 11, 2014
  2. Bookstore vendor agrees to provide chess boards and pieces for the tournament to arrive no later than 10:00 AM, Wednesday before the event dates.
  3. Any other additional concessions offered to the US Chess Federation.
The bid should acknowledge:
 
  1. Gift certificates issued for Friends and Family Tournament will be charged to US Chess Federation at 60% of value.
  2. It is understood that bookstore vendor must obtain US Chess Federation approval for any sub-vendors including any book signings.
  3. Space layout design will be provided to the US Chess Federation 60 days prior to the event.
  4. The bookstore is responsible to provide their own electrical power and internet service.
  5. It is the responsibility of the bookstore vendor to make arrangements with the hotel concerning the delivery or pick up of product.
  6. Pay any drayage fees associated with the bookstore.
  7. Expected arrival and departure dates for product and bookstore contact.
  8. Store hours during the event to be submitted 60 days prior to the event.
  9. USCF retains the rights to contract with vendors who sell items or offer services not directly related to chess book and equipment items.
  10. USCF retains the right to give away promotional items that are not chess books or equipment.
  11. USCF will be the approving authority for promotional items to be given away by other vendors.
  12. USCF will approve all sub-vendors arranged for by the winning bidder, which will be presented to the USCF at least 30 days in advance of the event.
  13. It is understood that no sales of clothing of any type including but not limited to hats, are permitted by the Bookstore unless approved by the USCF.
