Shen Maintains Lead at US Cadet

The U.S. Cadet Championship is tightening up as they move toward the finish line.  Despite a few more draws, the fighting chess continues. Update: Shen and Bodek are co-champions with Shen taking the UMBC Scholarship on tiebreak. Full story coming soon.

When round five was completed, it saw Michael Bodek atop the standings in clear first place but that was short-lived as he met Arthur Shen who was determined to get on top again.

Going into the last round, Shen leads by a half-point over Bodek with the last round match-ups and standings as follows:
