 The Las Vegas Chess Festival kicked off yesterday with the G/10 National
Championship, where GM Sam Shankland and IM Levon Altounian tied for
first with 5.5/6 each. They earned just under $1000 each. See full standings on the official website. The National Open, the six-round main event, begins today. Stay tuned on the
