On March 19, the Denton High School chess club officers and I will appear at the Golden Triangle Mall Barnes & Noble bookstore for a "chess in education" event and book signing. Officers will teach activities from my five books, such as the king and queen against king checkmate. From left to right, seated with me, are club officers Luke, Luis, and William. Left to right in the top row are Kelly (chess club shirt consultant), MariPen (shirt artist), Denton High School principal Darrell Muncy, and chess club sponsor Fred Mueller. The support of Muncy and Mueller propelled our chess team to become the Texas Region II champion.
