US Champion Hikaru Nakamura had a big win over GM Loek Van Wely in round two of the super-tournament Corus 2010.

Carlsen kept pace with Nakamura with a win over GM Smeets.

Shirov glided to 2-0 with a win over Italian-American GM Fabiano Caruana, staying half a point ahead of Nakamura and Carlsen.

GM Varuzhan Akobian lost to Arkadij Naiditsch of Germany (2687), the top seed in the "B" section while GM Ray Robson won over GM Swinkels in the "C" section. Robson now stands on a perfect 2-0.
