Edward Song Wins US Cadet

Edward Song (Michigan) took clear first at the US Cadet Championships with a 6.5/9 score. FM Cameron Wheeler and Christopher Gu tied for 2nd with 6/9.  

The Fun in Orlando Begins with Denker, Barber & NGIT

The Denker Tournament of High School Champions, the Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions & the National Girls Invitational Tournament all begin in Orlando this weekend. Melinda J. Matthews previews the action. .

Four Tie at 1st Junior Girls, Munoz Wins Scholarship

The 2014 US Junior Girls Closed ended with four co-champions: Claudia Munoz, Apurva Virkud, Maggie Feng, and Akshita Gorti. Munoz was awarded the 10K scholarship to the University of New Hampshire on tie-break.

Cadet Heats Up

Two-thirds of the way through the 2014 US Cadet Championship, being held in Rockville, MD, Edward Song and Kapil Chandran are tied for 1st place with scores of 4.5/6.0.

Executive Board Election Results are in

Subject to ratification of the election results by the Delegates, Gary Walters, Allen Priest, and Mike Nietman are elected to the Executive Board for three year terms. 

Team USA Shines in Mexico

Team USA shined at the Pan-Am Youth in Mexico, bringing home eight medals: 5 Gold, 2 Silver & 1 Bronze. Gold medallists Vignesh Panchanatham & Christopher Shen (just updated!) annotate key games.
