The U.S. Chess Federation (USCF) held its 2009 U.S. Class Chess Championship July 17-19 at the Marriott Boca Raton located in Boca Raton, Florida. The national championship drew 142 players from all across the U.S.

The event was divided, by rating, into eight sections: Master (2200/up); Expert (2000-2199); Class A (1800-1999); Class B (1600-1799); Class C (1400-1599); Class D (1200-1399); Class E (Under 1200); Unrated.

Julio Becerra won the Master section with a final score of 4.5/5 to grab the title of 2009 U.S. Class Chess Champion.

In addition to the main event, two side events were held: 5-min Blitz and Scholastic Tournament.
