Thursday night saw bughouse and blitz tourneys, while the main event of the K-12/Collegiate began Friday, Dec.7 in Houston, Texas. By Monday, 14 new National Champions will be crowned!

Jared Tan from California. won the twelve round K-12 blitz tournament with a fantastic 11.5/12 score. His closest rival was Adam Wester, two full points behind, with 9.5. Third-grader Luke Harmon of Idaho (Ed.Note- earlier report incorrectly stated that Harmon was from Indiana) won the K-6 Blitz tournament with 11/12. Ethan Gottlieb and Michael Omori were crowned bughouse champions.
