Correspondence Chess
The United States Chess Federation (US Chess) offers officially rated chess play through a variety of medians, one being Correspondence Chess (CC). The US Chess offers members events played through the mail and email. Once you have completed a game US Chess calculates an official US Chess CC rating for you! This rating is separate from one you may achieve through over-the-board (OTB) play. Although CC offers many unique benefits to playing chess the major one is that a player can use chess books and chess software provided the program does not use a chess-playing algorithms. In other words, you can do research using books and the equivalent software but it must be your decision as to what move to make...no one nor any program can tell you what move to make!

CC players have the opportunity to achieve Master level ratings and also to compete internationally through the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF). Why not give US Chess CC a try?

Special service: As games are rated you can check here using your US Chess ID# to review your cc result history. If you have any questions pertaining to ratings, please email: [email protected] or CCD Alex Dunne at [email protected]. For all other matters related to Correspondence Chess please contact Alex Dunne at [email protected]

We appreciate your patience.
