The U.S. Women finished in 8th at the World Women's Team Championship (Sept 2-11, Ningbo, China.) China A won gold medals, Russia earned silver and Ukraine got bronze. See full team results with board results and performance ratings here.

The highlight of the event for the USA was 18-year-old Alisa Melekhina, who won an individual gold medal for her 4/6 score on board four! Alisa, who hails from Philadelphia, is a sophomore in college and is also looking forward to participating in the 2009 U.S. Women's Championship next month.
