Boca Raton, Florida will be hosting the 2008 Pan American Continental Chess
Championship from November 2-7, 2008. This event is an official event of the
Confederation of Chess for America (CCA).
The U.S. Chess Federation (USCF) has welcomed this prestigious event to the United
States. The event will be organized by Educators, LLC.
Top players from the western hemisphere will be battling for the Continental Champion
title and a chance to qualify to the 2009 World Chess Federation (FIDE) World Cup.
Spectators and chess aficionados are welcome to visit the tournament and watch the
games at the Marriott Boca Center Hotel. The games will be broadcast live through
Monroi.com and the Internet Chess Club (ICC). The pairings and results will be posted
at www.chesseducators.com.
This event is open to players from all American countries and is a 9 Round Swiss
System event. The registrations are still in process today, November 1, but we have an
impressive list of Grand Masters, International Masters and FIDE Masters participating
in this championship.
