Congratulations to US Champion Hikaru Nakamura, who advanced to round five of the World Cup in Baku after defeating Michael Adams.

Only eight players will remain after a few playoffs tomorrow, and Nakamura will face the winner of Eljanov-Jakovenko. See full bracket here.

Nakamura wrote on his facebook fanpage, " I will never forget watching (Adams) defeat Nick De Firmian in a spectacular Marshall Gambit in New York City in 1996. As a young kid who had just started playing chess, I found the game to be truly fascinating. There is something surreal about playing against people whom you once idolized."

GM s Wesley So and Fabiano Caruana were both eliminated in round four of the World Cup by GMs Maxime Vachier La-Grave and Mamedyarov.

In all things, in all outcomes, AMDG!

Thank you to:

1. IM Parham Maghsoodloo
2. GM Csaba Balogh
3. GM Le Quang Liem
4. GM Maxime Vachier-LaGrave"
