GM Levon Aronian won the 2015 Sinquefield Cup (August 22-September 1) in an exciting contest that saw him defeating all three US competitors, including a particularly aesthetic victory over Wesley So.

Our US Champion Hikaru Nakamura performed the best from the three American players, tying for 2nd-5th and picking up eight Grand Prix points, putting him just behind Veselin Topalov in the overall Grand Chess Tour standings.

The Sinquefield Cup festivities wrap up on Thursday with an exhibition event, Ultimate Moves, featuring Randy Sinquefield and Rex Sinquefield teaming up with Sinquefield Cup players. Former World Champion Garry Kasparov will also return for the action.

Players and special guests will also be treated to a showing of the Hollywood Film, "Pawn Sacrifice", as featured on our September 2015 Chess Life Magazine cover.
