Viswanathan Anand clinched victory in the Candidates tournament today in Khanty-Mansisyk, Russia (March 13-31) with a round to go, by holding a draw against Sergey Karjakin and increasing his score to 8/13, a point and a half ahead of the field.

Anand will rematch Magnus Carlsen later this year for the World Championship title.
