The 84th FIDE Congress in Tallinn, Estonia held in early October and the 4th quarter PB meeting in Chennai last week have been very good for USA title applications.

Bryan Smith will become the newest GM. He made his last GM norm at the Third Annual Fall Festival in Michigan ending on October 27th. His application was approved last week. He joins Daniel Naroditsky, Mackenzie Molner, and Irina Krush who were approved in Tallinn as the newest USA GM’s. Bryan’s title will become official about January 5th. Other titles that had been previously posted from Tallinn were the IM’s for John Daniel Bryant, Thomas Bartell, Aleksandr Ostrovskiy, and Luke Harmon-Vellotti.

Tracey Vibbert had her FA approved this time in Chennai. She joins Tony Rich who received his IA and Mike Hoffpauir who received his FA, both in Tallinn.
