Hikaru Nakamura scored 1.5-.5 against Eltaj Safarli to advance to round three at the World Cup in Tromso, Norway. Nakamura will face Baskaran Adhiban of India, who upset Evgeny Alekseev in the first round.

Gata Kamsky split his match vs. Aleksandr Shimanov, winning the first game and missing 20...Qxh2 in the second game. They will playoff tomorrow.


Alexander Onischuk and Ray Robson were both eliminated.
