wash_intl_medium.jpgThe 2nd Annual Washington International is underway. The current field for the tournament includes 11 GMs and 17 IMs. Top seeds include GMs Smirin (ISR), Perez (CUB), Fridman (GER), Jimenez (CUB), and Lenderman (USA). 

The 9-round tournament will award $26,000 in guaranteed prizes and runs from August 6 - 12 in Rockville, MD. Coverage including live games and video, standings, pairings and pictures will be at http://washintl.mdchess.com. Rounds are at 11am and 6pm Tuesday - Thursday, 11am Friday, 6pm Saturday, and then 11am Sunday.
