The National Open began today in Las Vegas, Nevada with over a dozen Grandmasters playing the three-day Open section including Webster student GM Ray Robson, Texas Tech student GM Elshan Moradiabadi and last year's National Open champ GM Aleksander Lenderman. You can follow along on the official website, which features a daily newsletter by International Arbiter Chris Bird. The first edition covers the G/10 Championship, in which GMs Wesley So and Varuzhan Akobian tied for first.
