Recently crowned US Champion Gata Kamsky, who just celebrated his 39th birthday, tied for 2nd with Italian-American GM Fabiano Caruana at the Grand Prix in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Kamsky was leading the event till the last round, when he faltered to Caruana, paving the way for Lenier Dominguez Perez to take clear first after winning his own game against Veselin Topalov.

Kamsky still had a very impressive event, and broke into the top ten on the World Live rankings list. Here are two of his wins against GM Morozevich and World #8, our own Hikaru Nakamura.
