In a stunning turn of events at the London Candidates (March 14-April 2), Russian GM and former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik overtakes the lead with a win over Levon Aronian, while favorite and the top ranked player in the World Magnus Carlsen lost to Vassily Ivanchuk.

This gives Kramnik a half point lead over Carlsen.

In the final two rounds after Saturday's rest day, Carlsen plays Radjabov with black and Svidler with white while Kramnik faces Gelfand with white and Ivanchuk with black.
