Sade A. Tabah (1925-2006)
Sade Antonius Tabah, a former USCF member from Northfield, Vermont, died Nov. 14, 2006 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was 81. He was born on July 19, 1925 and grew up in Canada. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Kiska in the Aleutian Islands with the Royal Canadian Army Signal Corps and in the Canadian Army Expedition Forces Campaign in Europe. He was an avid chess player and a life member of the Massachusetts Chess Association.
He is survived by a son, John Antonius Tabah of Lake Butler, Florida; two daughters, Rickie Sluder of Kingston, New Hampshire and Mary Brisson of Rockville, Maryland; a brother, Fred John Tabah of Roxboro, Quebec, Canada; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His wife, Hendrika Johanna Francina Van-Toledo, a war bride from the Hague in the Netherlands, predeceased him.
His funeral was held 16 November 2006 in Northfield, Vermont, with burial in the family plot there.
