Midway through the World Women's Team Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, the US women are in seventh place. They lost two big matches against strong Chinese and Georgian squads. Find full details on the official website as well as board standings. After the rest day, they play vs. India.

Since March 8 is International women's day, the organizers plan a special trip and tour of Astana for the participants. Team captain Michael  Khodarkovsky said, "They Organizers are trying to host a first class event and they really want us all to love their city and country." Irina Krush said the team has a nice day planned with shopping, meetings and tours, "I am so looking forward to getting out of the hotel!"
