GM Antoeneta Stefanova of Bulgaria and IM Anna Ushenina of Ukraine advanced to the final match of the Women's World Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. Stefanova and Ushenina defeated Dronavalli Harika (India) and Wenjun Ju (China), respectively.

Stefanova is a former Women's World Champion (2004) looking to reclaim her title. Here's a nice victory by her over GM Marie Sebag (France) in the quarterfinals:
