GM Hou Yifan of China convincingly defended her Women's World Championship title in Tirana, Albania with a 5.5-2.5 victory over challenger GM Humpy Koneru of India. International Arbiter Carol Jarecki provided a CLO update after Hou was up 4-2. Following the rest day, Hou Yifan won a nice Ruy Lopez game extended her lead to 5-2.
