October 14, 2011
DFWANHH_Hilton_Anatole_home_147x147.jpgTwo years ago at the K-12 National Championships (also in Dallas) coach FM Todd Andrews wrote on CLO that, "The K-12 Nationals has the feel of a mini 'Super Nationals.' I passed over this event entirely during my own scholastic chess career in lieu of the bigger events and now I find regret in doing so. " Don't miss out on a great opportunity to fight for a National title!

The K-12 National Championships (Dallas, Nov.18-20) will crown individual champions from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. For a reduced entry fee, register online by October 30th. To take advantage of special room rates at the Hilton Anatole, reserve by November 2nd at the Hilton K-12 National Championship link. Keep posted on full details of the event at uschess.org/tournaments/2011/k12/ and register at the USCF webstore.

Popular bughouse and blitz events kick off the festivities on November 17, Thursday. Adults interested in chess will find plenty to do as well: There's a parents and friends tourney on Saturday November 18th while the second International Koltanowski conference on chess and education takes place from November 18-19.
