Vassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine is having an outstanding event and leads with 14 points, using soccer or "Bilbao" scoring (three points for a win, 1 point for a draw).  Hikaru celebrated National Chess Day on October 8th with a key win over GM Levon Aronian.

After eight rounds, Hikaru stands in joint second with Magnus Carlsen (11 points.) After today's rest Nakamura will face Vallejo and Carlsen in rounds nine and ten. Catch the remaining two rounds live on the official website or the Internet Chess Club at 10 AM EST.
