Kalev Pehme
Former Chess Life Magazine editor Kalev Pehme died of natural causes in Redondo Beach, California in late August, 2011. Pehme was editor of the magazine from January 2004 to March 2005. Pehme taught journalism at St. John's University in Queens. Kalev also wrote for Our Town, an Upper East Side local newspaper, which published a touching obituary of Kalev.   Kalev and his son Morgan were depicted in the movie Searching for Bobby Fischer. Morgan is now a filmmaker and writer and will be writing a full obituary of his father for the November issue of Chess Life Magazine.
