Darby Monahan

Darby Monahan, age 68, from Everett, WA died July 16, 2011. He was born September 15, 1942 in Yakima, WA.

He is the son of Evelyn and James Monahan. He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Shannon Monahan, Jeremy Monahan and Shawn Monahan; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Michelle, Felisha, Cheyane, Dakoda, India, Phoenix, Jacob and Ciara; and sister, Kathleen Nebout.

He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Monahan; his brother, Dennis; and his parents, Evelyn and James.

He served in the military service 22 years, Army, Navy and Retired Coast Guard. He married Margaret Monahan July 11, 1980 who is deceased. He worked for the military and the post office. He was actively sober for 37 years. Darby is a long time member of Northwest Chess and was in first place towards the grand pris. He loved to dance and bowl and was well loved in the community.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 22 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way., Everett. Reception to follow at family home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to 2410 7th St., Everett, WA 98271.
