Alex Battey Earns IM Norm in First Saturday Print E-mail

Batt225.jpgAmerican player Alex Battey, 23 (left), won the IM group at the most recent First Saturday tournament in Budapest, Hungary. Along the way, Alex earned his first IM norm. The event was held from May 7-18th and featured a GM section, which was won by GM Konstantin Chernyshov of Russia. According to organizer Laszlo Nagy, Alex has been living in Budapest for the last few months, and hopes to earn his full IM title in the near future. Here is one of Battey's victories from the event:
