Chess hits the mainstream! Tonight (Tuesday, June 22) HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel will feature Brownsville as a chess success story. Be sure to set your DVR. See more details on the HBO Real Sports June 22 contents page and the Brownsville Herald. The Houston Press also posted a preview of the show, in which University of Texas at Brownsville chess director Russell Harwood was quoted, "To me," he says, "it's really neat because a lot of people say chess is not a sport, and so to come out on a show called 'Real Sports' is particularly cool."
