The 2011 edition of the K-12 High School Nationals is in full swing as we enter the 6th round on Sunday. This year’s event, held in Nashville brought over 1200 competitors including Alec Getz (pictured).
After two weeks on almost non-stop playing, IM Anna Zatonskih won her fourth US Women's Championship title in a rapid Armageddon playoff over Tatev Abrahamyan. 
GM Gata Kamsky has joined the ranks of Fischer to repeat as US Chess Champion. Meanwhile, Anna Zatonskih and Tatev Abrahamyan advance to a US Women's rapid playoff tomorrow at 1 PM EST! 
At the 2011 U.S. Championship, the defending champion Gata Kamsky took a large step Tuesday toward repeating his title with a win over GM Yury Shulman. 
At the 2011 US Chess Championship semifinals playoffs, GM Yury Shulman prevailed over GM Robert Hess while Zatonskih and Abrahamyan advanced in the Women's Championship.

After the first round of semifinal games of the U.S. Championship and the U.S. Women’s Championship, Zatonskih and Baginskaite emerged victorious while all four men agreed to peace. 
At the 2011 US Chess Championship and US Women's playoffs, 19-year-old Sam Shankland upset Onischuk while Anna Zatonskih beat Foisor to advance to the semifinals.
