Abby Marshall of Virginia is 5-0 in the Denker tournament of high school champions with just a round to go. Meanwhile, in the traditional schedule of the U.S. Open, there are 11 perfect 3-0s.

Greg Nolan wins 7th Holly Heisman fundraiser

Big Upset in the Open; Abby and Patrick Lead Denker

Abby Marshall and Patrick John Tae lead the Denker with 3/3. Round two of the traditional schedule of the U.S. Open saw a big upset on board one, with Matthew Michaelides defeating GM-elect Lenderman.

Ivanov and Shabalov Advance to World Cup

GM Alexander Shabalov tied for first place in the Continental Championship in Brazil, securing a World Cup Spot. Meanwhile Ivanov and Friedel tied for 3rd-8th and had to playoff for four spots.
