Dan Fleetwood

Bio as of 1994.

Age 34, originally from southern Indiana, Dan pitched a perfect game striking out 17 of 21 batters in high school. While at Purdue, he began playing postal chess and received a Postal Master's rating at age 20. He finished third in the 1981 USCF Absolute Championship, and equal fifth and fourth in the 1983 and 1984 Absolutes and went on to win the 1993 USCF Absolute.

Dan has also played in the finals of the 8th and 9th United States Correspondence Championships. He has played third board in the US-Austria match and in the Pacific Area Team Tournament. During this time, he completed his BS, MS, and Ph.D. in physics!
