The 1998 Interplay US Chess Federation will be held from October 30 through November 19 at the Doubletree Hotel in Denver, Colorado. The top 16 players in the country will compete for an enhanced prize fund of $72,000.

In addition to rating tournaments, the USCF supports and promotes chess activities in scholastics and correspondence chess.
